Francesca Longrigg

Francesca Longrigg was brought up in deep Hampshire countryside, the daughter of two writers. Her father wrote 58 published novels, the most well-known, perhaps, being Mother Love which was televised by the BBC with Diana Rigg in the starring role, and written under the nom de plume of Domini Taylor. Her mother wrote (and is still writing) four or five published novels under her maiden name, Jane Chichester.

Francesca moved away from academia at an early age, putting her energy into acting. She trained at drama school and had a succession of jobs in Theatre, TV (Waiting for God, The Detectives, Clarissa, and Men Behaving Badly), and Film, appearing in Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun, Bruce Robinson's How to Get Ahead in Advertising (with Richard E. Grant), and Strapless.

She also began to compose poignant songs, and was signed by Jeremy Lascelles at Chrysalis Music.
