Francesca Longrigg
The next band was True Noise; this time, a three-piece, with Francesca, James
Watson and Ivor Guest (current musical director for Grace Jones). Francesca
still works with James luckily for her, as he plays every single instrument,
and is the atmospheric master of guitars, always hugely contributing
to the beauty and musicality on Francesca's work. They released a song
called Shine On Me, written by Ed Baden Powell from D Influence, and
it went straight to the A List on Virgin Radio.
The band followed this with an EP, which was played a lot in a shop on
the corner of Portobello Road (Francesca's stomping ground), and Wendy and Lisa from Prince
fame were in the shop and heard it.
One thing led to another and Francesca was signed by their
manager, Jeremy Lascelles, who had recently been appointed new MD of Chrysalis Music Publishing.
